If there were any nutrition in them, I'd eat old photos, because I'm sure I could live off them. This week I found a link to a collection of COLOR photos from 1939-1942, taken by various photographers for the Farm Security Administration/Office of War Information. Fabulous things, looking for all the world like a Hollywood set, because ya just don't think of these scenes in color. I was hungry for more, and found them on Flickr.
In an earlier post, I showed you a copy of a depression-era boy in the family's larder, holding a large canning jar of peas. The color photos included this one of a gentleman canner, and it made me wish for homegrown field peas seasoned with fatback. Mmmm hmmm, yes it did.
