I just love this photo I found while going through some WWII era posters encouraging Americans to eat more corn and less sugar to help the war effort.
This one reminds me of a story my dad told me of retrieving a jar of pickles, I think, from the shed of a relative that had passed away. They'd been put up years before, but were still good. This boy looks pretty proud of his jar of peas.

I love that photo and especially the larder itself. I wonder how many people that supply of canned good was supposed to feed.
